Wind of Change

Only 4 more weeks 'till school starts. Things are starting to get real, but before they do .. spending my week enjoying my time. Going horseback riding, to the movies, scandinavian baths, ice skating and to the water park among other things. Getting myself relaxed and mentally prepared for a lot of new things and overwhelming moments.

Starry night

Every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And, the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand. It really is the most poetic thing I know about physics : You are all stardust. You couldn't be here if stars hadn't exploded, because the elements - carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution and for life - weren't created at the beggining of time. They were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars and the only way for them to get into your body is if those stars were kind enough to explode. So, forget God. The stars died so that you could be here today.

Words to live by ...

Found this on another blog and thought it wise :

Look at you. You're young. And you're scared. Why are you so scared? Stop being paralyzed. Stop swallowing your words. Stop caring what other people think. Wear what you want, say what you want. Listen to the music YOU want to listen to. Play it loud as fuck and dance to it. Go out for a drive at midnight and forget that you have school the next day. Stop waiting for Friday. Live now, do it NOW. Take risks. Tell secrets. This life if yours. when are you going to realize that you can do whatever you want ?

Getting mentally prepared ...

In a few months, I'll be stepping into a vast sea of unknown, travelling mysterious territories. Somehow, amidst  all the long hours and hard days, I must find a way to keep myself focused, centred, balanced and most of all motivated.

Keeping this blog, I think, will help me through it. I'll report the good , the bad, the ugly and be able to reflect on it by just letting it all out.

Today, I started by writing a small note in my agenda on the first page. A reminder of my mindset going in to this program entitled " Expectations " and an empty slot to be filled out after the first year or whenever I see fit and feel like something needs to be added or corrected entitled " Reality ".  It starts of like this ..

Expectations : Hard work, too much. Loads of pressure, I crumble, weak, feeling sorry for myself. Failure, success, learning, fighting. Don't give up, this is it, your big break. The moment you've been waiting for. Today, history is made ; a legend born. Picture yourself 3 years from now when you graduate and get your first job. 10 years from now when you become Artistic Director, 30 years from now when your ideas, your dreams become reality. Don't give up - Fight on.
